Workshops
These form the backbone of the Trust’s educational programme. We hold a Basic Workshop every autumn and
a Biomechanics Workshop every spring.
These are highly informative days, each including lectures and demonstrations covering
all the most important aspects of
correct classical horsemanship. The Trust also holds an Advanced Workshop from time to
time, which takes a specific topic of training and looks at it in greater depth.
Workshops run from 10am to 3.30pm.

SIC’S (Senior Instructor Clinics), including ASSESSMENTS
Senior Instructor Clinics are 2-day working clinics for Riding Members and are conducted by the Trust’s
Senior Instructors. Each rider has 2 half-hour private lessons over the two days.
On the first evening there is also a Riders’ Forum in the Club Room. This is a chance to discuss the day’s
work and related issues with the Instructors in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
Riding Assessments
All new Riding Members are invited to come to their first SIC to be assessed. This is a chance
for us to get to know you and your horse and visa versa. Assessments allow the rider to show their horse's level of training
and to discuss strengths and weaknesses in their work. There is then an opportunity for the instructor to give them
appropriate guidance and advice. Riders are asked to apply for an SIC, stating they would like to be assessed.
We hold approximately 15 SIC’s per year.
Members and non-Members are always welcome and encouraged as spectators.

International Clinics
Our regular visiting International Trainers are: Stephen Clarke, Charles de Kunffy, Arthur Kottas, Mark Phillips and Herwig Radnetter. Each of them give two or three clinics per year. We are extremely fortunate to have their continuing commitment to the Trust. This is a huge compliment to our Instructors, Riding Members and to the Trust’s comprehensive system of training.
Rider participation in these clinics is by Invitation. Places are awarded to those Riding Members who have attended sufficient SIC’s and show that they are ready to benefit from one or more of the International Trainers. Spectators are always welcome.
From time to time we also invite Guest Trainers to give Clinics and/or lectures to augment the existing programme. We have recently benefited from the tremendous knowledge and experience of Dr. Gerd Heuschmann and Klaus Balkenhol. We look forward to inviting other guests in the future.

Lecture/ Demonstrations
These are given by our International Trainers, usually on one evening of their clinic.
They are open to all spectators.
Trainers’ Days
Taken by International Trainer Charles De Kunffy and TTT Senior Instructors Alex Cookson and Andrew Murphy.
Open to all members
Although they are flagged up as ‘Trainers’ Days they are also highly appropriate, enjoyable and valuable for non-Instructors - as a rider you are of course your own horses’ trainer each time you get in the saddle!
The days consist of theory discussions on aspects of riding and training, taking a different theme each time. Following this, a selection of ‘guinea pig’ horses and riders are used to illustrate the theory covered. The days are designed to help riders and teachers develop skills such as identifying priorities in training and forming strategies for the systematic training of horse and rider, as well as looking at the fundamentals of riding such as the riders’ seat and aiding and the horses’ correct carriage and deportment.
